COUNTRY CLUB REMODELS, RELAUNCHES MENUS. The Sullivan Country Club has relaunched its lunch and dinner menus. Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and features burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers.

By Ryan Storz

The Sullivan Country Club is ready to be a dining destination.

The club has relaunched its lunch and dinner menus after a period of shutting down food service.

Members were treated to a soft opening over the past few weeks and Myles Beckett, the country club’s general manager, said he feels good about the menus after a positive response.

Beckett has worked to reinvigorate the country club atmosphere with a remodel and the reintroduction of lunch and dinner is part of that.

Beckett developed the menu and cook Jake Bailey is executing it in the kitchen. The lunch menu features six variations of a half-pound burger, six sandwich items, salads and appetizers.

Beckett said he wanted choice beef — the product is never frozen and 100 percent angus.

“I told our food guy I don’t care how much it is, I want the best product,” Beckett said. “I want the best ribeyes, I want the best strips. It’s going to cost us, but that’s what I want.”

The dinner menu will consistently feature 12-ounce ribeye and strip steaks, but rotate between two of a chicken, fish or pasta dish.

The dinner also includes a potato and salad.

Lunch is available Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and

Beckett said if it’s successful, lunch could be available on more days of the week.

It’s not required, but preferred, that customers make dinner reservations.

Contact the club at 573-468-5803.

Black And White

Mr. Obama, you have both black and white blood on your hands. Every time a police officer is included in a shooting with a black person you condemn the police department without knowing all the facts. Yet over the 4th of July weekend there were 60 people shot and 5 killed in your home town of Chicago, mostly black on black!!

Race relations are worse under your administration than they have been in years.

If Hillary is elected, she will continue your failed policies.

Is this what we want in our leadership?? Continuing Obama’s immigration policies and allowing people to come to our country without proper vetting??

You support Hillary and the whole world knows what a liar she is and the fact she has taken money from Foreign Nations to benefit her own pocket.

To the citizens of Sullivan and America, consider who and what you are voting for this November. We need to unite not divide.
